The use of organic based products is not a new one for many greenkeepers. However for many reasons, the actual inclusion of such products within their yearly nutrient programme has been slow to take on. Times are changing and with the ever increasing social pressure for us to become more "organic" the use such products especially those which contain seaweed and seaweed extract is now becoming more popular in the market place.

In this light, TurfCare are proud to announce a new seaweed based product range to the market, launched under the product label SeaCare. This pure seaweed extract bio stimulant had been developed for specific application on golf courses; sports pitches or landscape projects and comes in a liquid form. SeaCare is available on its own or in combination with iron and nitrogen. Specific formulations are available for different times of the year and these are tailored to the needs of the soil at various stages of the annual growth cycle.

Liquid seaweed products have several advantages including: fast acting, foliar and root application; effectiveness in dry conditions; even distribution; avoids scorching and it can be used in conjunction with other products in the same application. ¡V such as fungicides and weed killers.

SeaCare works in a number of ways:

• Stimulation of the grass plants activity leading to improved root development.
• Increased nutrient uptake from the soil.
• Resistance to disease and stress caused by drought or frost.
• Freedom from trace element deficiency.
• Breakdown of thatch by microbial degradation of dead organic material.
